Meteorites

A meteorite is a non-terrestrial natural object originating in outer space that survives impact with the Earth's surface. Meteorites are billions of years older than our planet Earth, travelling in time and space long before our planet was a ball in space (circa 4.6 billion years ago). They can be made up of a wide range of minerals, ice and rock or they can be metallic often Iron or Nickel and occasionally rarer metals, they may also contain gemstones often Beryl and peridot, this particular meteorite class is known as pallasite. A meteorite can range in size from microscopic to extremely large. Most meteorites derive from small astrological objects called meteoroids, but are also produced by the impacts of asteroids.
